We work throughout London and the Home counties undertaking a wide range of Cellar tanking and basement waterproofing treatments.
Cellar tanking typically requires removal of the existing wall finishes, such as renders, plaster, paint finishes etc and the brickwork is then prepared by needle gunning and scarifying the surfaces to remove latent materials and to provide a suitable key for the waterproof tanking.
A SWS tanking is then applied by spray, brush or trowel to the brickwork / masonry. The cellar tanking slurry bonds to the substrate to provide a barrier to prevent the ingress of water.
Normally installed in conjunction with a waterproof rendering system and specialist re-plastering, this provides a highly effective water barrier to ensure a damp free basement.
Our tanking systems are installed by our own highly skilled operatives and are covered by a ten year guarantee.
When a tanking membrane fails it is very difficult, if not impossible, to remedy or repair. A solution to the problem will undoubtedly be expensive and consideration as to the choice of waterproof membrane is therefore paramount.
Mastic asphalt, with its seamless application is a natural material for tanking. The material provides an underground waterproofing membrane that will not degrade and one that will provide many decades of trouble-free service.
Mastic asphalt is the finest quality membrane for resisting underground moisture penetration. Its seamless qualities and proven track record of success make it the natural choice for the specifier.
It should be installed as with all mastic asphalt applications by fully qualified craftsmen.
